Walsh Engineering Services was founded on the vision of providing a full complement of engineering disciplines that could tackle any project. The vision became a reality! Since its start in Idaho Falls in 2005, the company has completed thousands of projects for various clients and subsequently opened a second office in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Walsh Engineering Services currently employs more than one hundred talented and dedicated technical professionals who specialize in a wide variety of fields. Walsh Engineering Services is big enough to tackle diverse technical projects from designing reactor shutdown systems to analyzing and designing pressure vessels for biological hazards, yet small enough that clients and new employees alike get to know the company president and top technical performers.
In October of 2018, Walsh Engineering Services was honored to be recognized as the Small Business of the Month on the floor of the United States Senate. In his comments Senator James Risch congratulated Walsh Engineering Services as exemplifying the qualities of innovation, ambition, and industry, as well as perseverance and hard work… qualities Walsh Engineering Services strives to embody every day.
Thriving in the Department of Energy complex and nuclear industry
Walsh Engineering Services started as three people providing support to the Idaho National Laboratory and quickly grew to become one of INL’s key engineering service providers. This foundation allowed the company to grow to support other DOE laboratories across the complex and to branch into other segments of the nuclear industry. Walsh Engineering Services provides high-quality engineering services and understands and embraces the critical aspects of nuclear work. As a result, Walsh Engineering Services continues to grow and excel in support of this field of work which is vital to the security of our nation and the future of clean energy.

Our Roots
The main Walsh Engineering Services office is located near the Idaho Falls airport. Walsh Engineering Services has deep roots in southeast Idaho where its employees volunteer more than a thousand hours each year with community service, civic, and faith-based organizations.
In 2019, Walsh expanded its operations, opening a field office in Los Alamos, NM.
